The bees have a honeyed wisdom for these times. For thousands of years the bees have been revered by cultures and civilizations. Their wisdom has inspired artists, healers, mystics, poets, leaders, philosophers, and many more throughout time creating a rich web of myth, medicine, magic, and symbolism surrounding them.
The wisdom and brilliance of the bees inspired ancient peoples in their various spiritual rites and rituals and even played a role in the building of temples and sacred sites.
The bees can see in the darkness and they offer us guidance in traversing it. As we move into the darkest part of the year they can be like a flickering candle in the dark lighting the way forward.
The spiritual traditions around bees and beekeeping are some of the greatest lost to the world and in exploring them we gain a deeper understanding not only of the bees but nature as a whole and our relationship to it. In this lecture we will travel through time to explore our ancient and sacred relationship to the bees and how we may return to kinship with them in a time where it is crucial for us to do so.
